Coaching

I’m a developmental coach for thoughtful, self-aware people trying to convert inner complexity into grounded action.

People come to me for enough space to hear themselves, a candid mirror, and some help turning what they already know into something they can actually do.

What brings people to me

Some recurring themes:

  • you need to have a difficult conversation, set a boundary or stand up for yourself;
  • you’re good at understanding everyone else’s perspective and sometimes lose contact with your own;
  • you’re building an unconventional organisation and the human dynamics have become confusing or exhausting;
  • you want to design a satisfying, unconventional life and talk with someone who has done it.

Working with me

I offer companionship while you look at what you would rather avoid. I’m also willing to interrupt, disagree and push back.

I love helping people through developmental transitions: those periods when an old way of organising your life has reached its limit and something new is trying to emerge.

I listen for the live developmental pattern beneath apparently separate stories and offer it as a hypothesis for us to test. I pay attention at three scales: what is happening inside you, what happens between you and other people, and the wider systems you are part of.

Depending on what helps, I might coach, mentor, offer strategic advice, share a personal example, rehearse a conversation or suggest an experiment. I’m especially useful when personal, relational and strategic material are tangled together.

An insight usually gives us something to do next: an experiment, a conversation or a decision. I sometimes share something from my own experience for you to accept, adapt or ignore. You remain the author of what happens next.

What people say

“My husband told me he noticed we haven’t been fighting as much. He’s feeling supported and less stressed. I’m feeling less reactive to him. I’ve dodged many potential fights. I’ve also brought up some of my own complaints, and it’s gone surprisingly well.

“I’m doing things completely differently, and it’s going well. I can’t tell you how relieving it is to make progress.”

— Christina

“That call unstuck this communication pattern—something I wanted to shift, but needed support in building the framework to do so. I’ve moved from avoiding difficult conversations to going into them… Spoiler: it’s working.”

— Tricia Pickren

Book a session

Sessions are 60 minutes. Before we meet, I’ll ask a few questions so we can make good use of the time.

You can book a single session. If it seems useful to continue, we can arrange a short series after we meet.

Choose according to who is paying:

If your employer or organisation is paying, choose the organisation-funded rate. This helps me keep some of my calendar available to people with less financial capacity.

Supported places are limited and involve a short request form, but you won’t need to prove your hardship.
